Rumor: BMW Plans An Even More Powerful M3 Called The Competition Sport (CS)
BMW is rumoured to already be developing a CS (Competition Sport) version of the latest-generation G80 M3. The latest M3 is already powerful on its own and the M3 Competition is on another level. This new M3 CS will be the most expensive and obviously the most powerful 3-series sedan ever made. The German automaker will follow a similar recipe with other CS models, such as the M2 CS and M5 CS, by stripping out some weight from the M3. Most savings will probably come from the fitment of various carbon fibre parts, while it’s possible that the M3 CS will be rear- instead of all-wheel drive.
The power will also go up from the 510 PS (503 horsepower) of the Competition model. Most likely we’ll see a bump of 10-20 horsepower which should be enough in conjunction with the lower weight and fine-tuned chassis/suspension. Rumours also say that the M3 CS will be available in a manual transmission which will make enthusiast giggle with excitement. The ride is going to be a serious hardcore machine and no official details of a release date but it is thought that a 2022/2023 year is the year we may feast our eyes on the new beast from Germany.
