Lightyear Gets New Board Of Directors As Restart Process takes Full Swing

Lightyear is in the process of a restart and has, among other things, attracted new investors. Now there is also a new board.
The Dutch Lightyear will have a new CEO and chief financial officer, the company has announced. This means that founder and current CEO Lex Hoefsloot is stepping down. He will be succeeded by Bonna Newman. She already worked at Lightyear as a technical director of solar’ and previously conducted research into solar energy for TNO. Marnix Borghouts will become Lightyear’s new chief financial officer. Hoefsloot will remain involved as the founder. He will focus on the company’s long-term plans.
The change in management comes a few weeks after it was announced that two South Korean companies would invest in Lightyear. These investments capped a year that started with the production stop of Lightyear’s first solar car. Shortly afterward, the company went bankrupt, after which a restart was made in a slimmed-down form in April.
