All-New 8th-Gen Hyundai Elantra (Avante) Unveiled In South Korea

The all-new, 8th-generation Hyundai Elantra (Avante for South Korea) has its world premiere at the Busan International Mobility Show (BIMOS 2026).

The Elantra is one of Korea’s most iconic compact sedans, now completely redesigned with Hyundai’s “Art of Steel” design language.

Exterior features include daytime running lights with H-Edge lighting, a bold front grille, narrow exterior mirrors and 18-inch wheels with geometric patterns.

The all-new Elantra is 4,765 mm long, 1,855 mm wide and 1,425 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm, an increase of 55 mm in length, 30 mm in wheelbase and 30 mm in width over the previous generation.





Inside, the all-new Elantra features Pleos Connect, Hyundai’s next-generation infotainment system running the Android Automotive operating system, with a 14.6- or 12.9-inch center display. Gleo AI, Hyundai’s own in-car AI assistant, is built into the system along with the Pleos App Market for third-party in-car apps.

A small digital dashboard sits near the windscreen with important indicators, and the equipment list includes a Bang & Olufsen system, a built-in camera, dual wireless chargers, and ultra-fast 100W USB ports.

In terms of safety, the Avante has 10 airbags and a comprehensive package of ADAS systems, including the new Smart Cruise Control 2, a reversing assist system with memory, remote smart parking assist, an emergency braking system…

Two powertrain options will be offered in South Korea: a 2.0 petrol engine producing 149 hp (+26 hp over its predecessor) and a 1.6 hybrid system with a combined output of 157 hp. Specifications may vary by market.

Sales are expected to begin in the third quarter, with pricing and full equipment details to be announced at launch.
