Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon Cabriolet Set For A Comeback
After more than a decade of hiatus, Mercedes-Benz announces the return of the open-top G-Class. The last regular G Class Cabriolet was produced more than ten years ago, and a new version is coming soon from the Magna Steyr factory in Graz.
The German manufacturer has released the first tinted photo of the new model, confirming that the vehicle will be available in almost all global markets, including the United States.
According to the announcement photo, the new Cabriolet will have a Landaulet-like profile, with extended roof edges towards the rear of the vehicle. Unlike the previous generation, there is a high probability that the new model will have four doors, which would be in line with the current offer.
The new version of the Geländewagen is expected to be based on the G550 gasoline model with a folding canvas roof, and due to global availability, a diesel version of the G450d with an open roof is also possible. No one is even talking about the electric version anymore.
