The Lexus UX is a 4.5-meter-long compact crossover from Toyota’s luxury brand, presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2018. It was the smallest crossover in the Lexus range before the introduction of the LBX in 2023, and currently, the UX is positioned between the LBX and NX. The UX is the first Lexus model based on the same GA-C platform as the Toyota Corolla E210 series. By the way, the label UX stands for “Urban Explorer.”

The Lexus UX is in little demand in the US market, the main one for Lexus. In the first 10 months of this year, 7,324 customers chose this model, which means that the UX accounted for 2.5% of all Lexus sales in the US. Now Lexus’s US office has unveiled the UX model year 2026, although the list of updates is quite modest. According to the manufacturer, the crossover now has upgraded standard headlights with automatic brightness control in the Premium and F Sport equipment packages.

The list of changes also includes a new Ultra White exterior color for the base Lexus UX 300h (replacing White Pearl). Also, for those who want the F Sport equipment package, a new Caviar monochrome exterior is now offered as an option. Just last year, the UX received new chrome details, as well as a virtual instrument panel that was increased to 12.3 inches in the Premium and F Sport trim packages (the base model still has a 7-inch screen).

The technique remained unchanged. The 2026 Lexus UX 300h is equipped with a hybrid powertrain that features a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder gasoline engine paired with two electric motor-generators and a continuously variable transmission. The system produces a combined power of 199 hp and includes a small lithium-ion battery located under the rear seat.

The front-wheel drive version accelerates from zero to 60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 8.0 seconds, while the four-wheel drive version does it in 7.9 seconds. The E-Four four-wheel drive system, which uses an additional electric motor on the rear axle, remains an option. Sales of the refreshed SUV on the American market are scheduled to begin at the end of the year, with a slightly increased price starting at $38,250.
