“Drive Safe, Arrive Alive” : FRSC Sensitizes Commercial Drivers On Common Causes Of Road Traffic Crashes
FRSC, in collaboration with Leadway Assurance, organise sensitization exercise tagged “drive safe, arrive alive”.
FRSC (Lagos State Sector Command) list over-speeding as one of the common causes of road traffic crashes.
Other factors listed includes dangerous/wrongful overtaking, drunk driving, overloading, fatigue, and use of worn-out tyres.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos State Sector Command, in collaboration with Leadway Assurance, has carried out a sensitization exercise to educate commercial drivers, passengers and transport stakeholders on common causes of road traffic crashes.
Tagged “Drive Safe, Arrive Alive”, the exercise, which took place at Ojota (Biode) Motor Park, focused on road safety, proper vehicle maintenance, valid documentation, and compliance with traffic regulations as critical measures for crash prevention.

Speaking during the engagement, the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde G. Hamzat, educated drivers on common causes of road traffic crashes including over-speeding/speed Violation.
Other factors he said that contributes to road crashes among commercial vehicle drivers includes dangerous/wrongful overtaking, drunk driving, overloading, fatigue, and use of worn-out tyres.

The road safety sensitization exercise organized by FRSC also featured a vehicle safety simulation exercise, interactive sessions, and distribution of souvenirs to compliant drivers.
Leadway Assurance, one of Nigeria’s foremost insurance service companies, on its part, enlightened participants on the importance of vehicle insurance and risk management for safer roads.
