Eight Bentleys With Wrong Driveshaft Left The Factory
Large, commanding, and stunning, the 2026 Bentley Continental GT and GTC are just what you would anticipate from Crewe. Additionally, they are the focus of a recent recall in the United States, which encourages owners to pay closer attention as they drive.
Some 2026 Continental GT and GTC vehicles were produced with the wrong driveshaft, which may have been shorter than what Bentley had really stipulated, according to a recall notice that was recently issued to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
According to Bentley, if the wrong shaft is installed, the fastening nut may eventually come away, causing strange noises, vibration, and an uneven steering wheel. A supplier that relocated its manufacturing facility and used the incorrect part when constructing the front driveshafts is the culprit. It’s unclear if the part was made for a different car.
Fortunately for Bentley, just eight vehicles are affected by the recall. Three Continental GTC automobiles were produced between February 18 and March 9, 2026, and five Continental GT models were constructed between February 6 and March 12, 2026. Although the mix-up clearly raises the likelihood of an accident, Bentley has not documented any incidents or injuries related to the defective driveshafts.
Over the next few days, owners will get notifications about the recall and instructions to visit their local authorised Bentley store. The front driveshafts of cars will be evaluated, and if needed, new driveshafts will be installed. A replacement will require an additional three hours, whereas the inspections should take about thirty minutes.
