Anticipation continues to build for the forthcoming electric Range Rover, which is expected to arrive in showrooms by the end of the year as a cornerstone of Jaguar Land Rover’s expanded electric vehicle portfolio. This launch is particularly significant, as the model represents not only the first all-electric Range Rover but also the inaugural Land Rover product to feature a completely engine-free powertrain.

Jaguar Land Rover has high expectations for the vehicle, positioning it as the premier iteration of the Range Rover brand. While this is a bold assertion, a definitive assessment will follow once we have had the opportunity to evaluate the vehicle firsthand.

Jaguar Land Rover is positioning its upcoming electric Range Rover as a premium flagship, intentionally pricing it higher than its combustion-engine counterparts. Defying the industry trend of price-matching to boost EV adoption, JLR believes the model’s superior performance justifies a higher cost. Chief Commercial Officer Leonard Hoornik emphasized that the company aims to prove that the electric powertrain represents the absolute best version of the Range Rover.

While Jaguar Land Rover has not yet disclosed official pricing for the electric Range Rover, an analysis of the existing lineup provides a reasonable estimate. In the U.S. market, the full-size Range Rover currently starts at $115,750, including destination and delivery, for the standard wheelbase SE model equipped with a 3.0-liter inline-six engine.

Given Land Rover’s intention to position the electric variant as a premium flagship, it is anticipated that the starting price could fall within the $150,000 range. This placement would position the electric model above both the plug-in hybrid ($131,250) and the 4.4-liter V8-powered trim ($140,450). While this reflects a clear price premium over its combustion and hybrid counterparts, it remains within a range that may be acceptable to the typical Range Rover consumer. Precise pricing will be confirmed once Land Rover officially releases the SUV.
