Airlines Must Indicate The Exact Number Of Travel Luggage Checked-In By Passengers – FAAN
It is now compulsory for airlines to indicate the exact number of travel luggage checked in by passengers on their boarding passengers.
This is according to a directive by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
This directive is contained in a notice issued to airlines, earlier this week.
The notice reads: “The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria hereby notifies all passengers that forthwith, it has become compulsory for airlines to indicate the exact number of travel luggage checked-in by passengers on their boarding passes.
Passengers are therefore advised to always crosscheck their boarding passes to ensure that the number of luggage they checked-in is the same as reflected on it”.
This new directive is believed to be inspired by a recent incidence where a Nigerian, Zainab Aliyu, on a lesser hajj to Saudi Arabia, was accused by Saudi authorities of entering the country with a piece of luggage containing Tramadol.
