EFCC Begins Auction Of 649 Forfeited Vehicles, 15 Ships On Tuesday – List
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) begins auction of 649 forfeited vehicles, 15 ships on Tuesday.
Items, including phones and laptops, were subject of final forfeiture orders in accordance with its Establishment Act.
Exercise will held simultaneously in Abuja, Uyo, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Benin, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, and Sokoto.
Vehicles up for auction include cars from brands like Toyota, Lexus, Mercedes, Honda, Acura, Mitsubishi, VW, Audi and Nissan.
Mercedes-Benz models includes G-Class, GLK, ML and CLA models while BMW models includes X6 and 525i.
There are also Range Rover and Land Rover SUVs, Toyota SUVs like Land Cruiser and Prado as well as Lexus LX 570 and RX 350.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it will commence the physical inspection and auction of 649 forfeited vehicles and other assets on Tuesday at its offices across nine states.
The forfeited items, which also includes 15 vessels, 39 mobile phones and 11 laptops, were subject of final forfeiture orders in accordance with its Establishment Act, 2004, Public Procurement Act, 2007 and the Proceeds of Crime (Recovery and Management) Act, 2022.

In a public notice advertorial in The PUNCH on Friday, the EFCC detailed the items up for auction in each state, the dates and venues of the auction and websites for the online viewing of those to be auctioned electronically.
According to the anti-graft agency, the exercise will held simultaneously in Abuja, Uyo, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Benin, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, and Sokoto. The exercise is scheduled to end with the physical auction in Sokoto and Ilorin, respectively on December 20, 2022.

The commission noted :
“The auction is open to the general public throughout Nigeria for the duration of the bidding period, except staff of the commission and persons, groups or organisations against whom the forfeiture order was made.
“Asset viewing is free at the asset locations; assets will be sold ‘as is’ and ‘where is’ and no asset will be sold below the reserved price. A winning bid can only be equal or above the commission’s reserved price.”

Some of the vehicles up for auction include SUVs, sedans and trucks from brands like Toyota, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Acura, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, Audi, Nissan, Infinity and Mazda.
Mercedes-Benz models listed includes G-Class (G-Wagon), GLK, ML and CLA models while BMW models includes X6 and 525i. There are also Range Rover and Land Rover SUVs, Porsche cars, Toyota SUVs like Land Cruiser and Prado as well as Lexus LX 570 and RX 350.
