GMC Goes Fully Luxury Mode With Latest Yukon Denali Ultimate
GMC’s Yukon encroaches further into the luxury territory of its Cadillac Escalade sibling for 2023 with the arrival of a new Ultimate grade for the Yukon Denali. First offered on the related GMC Sierra 1500 Denali for 2022, the Ultimate grade brings a number of premium touches to the interior and exterior, while also making General Motors’ Super Cruise driver assist with towing and automatic lane change capabilities.
Design-wise, its exterior accents are finished in exclusive “Vader Chrome” and there is Galvano trim on the front fascia. Those are contrasted against bright chrome window and door panel trim, and the SUV sits on 22-inch seven-spoke ultra-bright machined wheels with chrome accents and dark paint.
A keen eye will catch these exterior upgrades, but the real differences are found inside. Full-grain leather in a shade of brown called Alpine Umber covers all three rows of seats. In front, the driver and passenger enjoy 16-way power seats with massage functions. Contrast stitching with Ultimate branding further enhances the seats, and there’s more brown in the form of woodgrain trim in various locations. That’s contrasted with aluminium trim, and of course, there’s an upgraded stereo. An 18-speaker Bose system is installed, including speakers integrated into the front headrests.
Infotainment duties are handled by a 10.2-inch screen with Google built-in that is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also comes with available Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, Amazon Alexa, and wireless phone charging.
Power is gotten from a 6.2-litre V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 ib-ft. The 3.0-litre turbodiesel straight-six is an option with 277 horsepower and the same amount of torque. Both are coupled to a 10-speed automatic and four-wheel drive. A rear-seat entertainment system and a towing package. And that’s it.
