The Touchscreen Buttons Are Harder To Miss With Cadillac’s Update
General Motors is rolling out software updates to improve vehicle infotainment and user interfaces based on customer feedback, including larger touch targets, better audio controls, and enhanced seat memory settings.
A significant improvement is the implementation of larger touch targets for frequently accessed controls. This enhancement is designed to minimize input errors and facilitate safer, more intuitive operation of the infotainment system while the vehicle is in motion.
GM is enhancing the user experience with a new side-mounted music queue and an improved dropdown source selector for seamless audio switching. Additionally, the company is simplifying shared vehicle use by allowing owners to link two user profiles to each memory seat button.
General Motors has introduced intuitive on-screen graphics that mirror the physical seat controls on vehicle doors, significantly improving user accessibility. Furthermore, electric vehicle owners will benefit from simplified charging notifications, as well as revised labeling and descriptions designed for enhanced clarity.
The update also features refined graphics and text for head-up displays, alongside a streamlined Bluetooth configuration process. These enhancements are currently being deployed via over-the-air updates to select 2025–2026 models, including the CT5, Lyriq, Optiq, and Vistiq; notably, certain improvements, such as the updated seat memory profiles, are expected to be implemented across a broader range of vehicles beyond the Cadillac lineup.
GM’s upcoming update introduces a split-screen home interface with an expanded, interactive map for seamless navigation. The redesign also includes one-tap widget customization for improved user personalization.
