GMC Has Launched The Sierra Denali EV Edition 1 With 754Hp And 400 Miles Of Range

General Motors has unveiled another electric pickup truck and this time it’s from its GMC arm, introducing the Sierra Denali EV Edition 1. The pickup brand promises the electric truck will deliver up to 400 miles of range, a reconfigurable midgate, and lots of onboard outlets.
Looking undeniably premium, the truck sports a fully enclosed grille with perimeter lighting and an illuminated GMC badge. It’s flanked by 7-shaped LED daytime running lights, which reside above low-mounted headlights, and feature animated approach lighting animations. Moving further back, we can see a muscular hood and streamlined bodywork that is unique to the Sierra EV. Speaking of the latter, the truck sports a prominent shoulder line, pronounced fenders, and subtle sculpting on the doors.
Like its Silverado EV sibling, the truck is a unibody design with the Ultium battery pack integrated as a structural part of the vehicle. It delivers 400 miles of range on a full charge, outputs 754 hp (and 785 ib-ft) and it can fast charge up to 350 kW with 800V DC capability, adding 100 miles of range in 10 minutes. If that juice is needed for emergencies, GMC says the Sierra EV can power the “essential necessities” of a house for 21 days – provided you have the necessary equipment to hook it all up.
On the luxury side, the interior trim includes open-pore wood, aluminium, and etched stainless steel. A fixed panoramic glass roof is also standard. You can also expect the usual luxuries like multi-zone climate control, wireless charging, a banging sound system, heated seats, and power-adjustable everything.
The interior’s centrepiece is a new 16.8-inch-diagonal freeform infotainment touchscreen, while the driver gets an 11-inch-diagonal reconfigurable instrument cluster. Safety-wise, Super Cruise and all of the advanced driving assistance systems that come with it are included.
Future Sierra EV models will be available with different ranges and tow ratings. For now, the Denali Edition 1 comes standard with trailering equipment, and it’s rated to pull up to 9500 pounds. The famous crabwalk available in the Hummer EV is also fitted to the truck. The Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 costs $108,695 and will go on sale in early 2024; less expensive models will join the lineup the following year.
