Here are State Governors in Nigeria using armored Lexus LX 600 luxury SUV worth ₦300 Million as official vehicles.

Nigerian politicians, especially the State Governors, have begun to upgrade to the latest Lexus LX 600 worth ₦300 Million, nearly two years after the debut of the new Toyota Land Cruiser LC 300-based flagship Lexus SUV.

Before May 29th 2023, the armored variant of the Lexus LX 570 was a favourite amongst State Governors in Nigeria, with at least 13 of them using the physically imposing luxury SUV as official vehicles.

But now, some state Governors have upgraded from the popular LX 570 to the latest Lexus flagship, with few of them turning up for official duties in the LX 600 official vehicles, barely 24 hours after their inauguration ceremony on May 29th.

So which Governors had opted to for the high-riding Lexus LX flagship as new official vehicles, which made its debut back in 2021?

State Governors that currently use the armored variant of the Lexus LX 600 luxury SUV as official vehicles includes Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Niger State’s Mohammed Umar Bago and Senator Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State.

Others that had also been spotted in the new Lexus SUV includes Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke popularly known as the ‘Dancing Governor’ as well Enugu State’s Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.

The newly redesigned LX 600 Lexus’ flagship SUV is set to follow in the step of its predecessor, the Lexus LX 570, thanks to its abilities to offer a rare combination of size, luxury and offroading features.

As expected, the version of the Lexus LX 600 that ferries Nigerian Governors to their official duties wears tonnes of armour plating and bulletproof glass. These feature allows it to withstand attacks from powerful weaponry, including improved explosive devices (IEDs).
