Nigerians are no doubt finding cheaper alternatives to Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles amidst the rising price of petrol and diesel in the country following the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government on May 29th 2023.
While many have made the move to convert theirs to use cheaper CNG and LNG, Indigenous Electric Vehicle Maker, JET Motor Company, has also promised that its JET Mover Electric Vehicle (EV) is a cheaper and cleaner alternative to the ICE vehicles.
From charging time to drive range, here are seven (7) things to know about JET Movers Electric Vehicle (EV).
1) All-electric drivetrain
The Jet Mover EV is fitted with Permanent Magnetic Synchronous Motor (PMSM), which produces 100-horsepower/600 Nm.
2) Battery-pack
JET Mover EV uses a 107.6 kWh lithium-ion battery-pack, and when fully charged, the all-electric 14-seat bus goes 240 kilometers (150 miles) — though, it can cover up to 300 kilometre range without traffic – enough to go from Lagos to Edo State.
3) Charging time
With a fast charger, the charging time from 0-100% is 2 hours (120 minutes).
4) Life cycle
The 107.6 kWh lithium-ion battery-pack inside the JET Mover Electric Vehicle (EV) has a life cycle of Four Thousand (4,000) charges.
5) Cost
The starting price for the Jet Mover Electric Vehicle (EV) is not yet known.
6) Warranty
All JET Mover vehicles and genuine accessories installed by the dealer have a two-year/60,000-kilometer limited warranty (whichever comes first).
7) Customer
Nigerian logistics giant, GIG Logistics (GIGL), currently have 4+ all-electric JET cargo vans in its Lagos fleet.
