HiPhi By Human Horizons Files For Bankruptcy After So Much Fanfare

HiPhi was among the many Chinese brands that announced with great fanfare that they would sink their teeth into the European car market, but that will no longer be the case as its parent company, Human Horizons, has filed for bankruptcy.
Do you know that story about HiPhi, which wants to conquer the European market? Well, that story is not coming. In 2019, we were first introduced to the car brand HiPhi of the Chinese Human Horizons. You probably know HiPhi mainly from its strikingly designed EVs, including the X and Y electric SUVs with gullwing doors and the HiPhi Z, which looks like a production concept car with its many angles, folds, and remarkable lines. HiPhi has already launched its models in Norway and Germany, among other countries, but further European expansion is not an option. The parent company, Human Horizons, has now filed for bankruptcy in China.
In February, it became clear that things weren’t going well for HiPhi. The company announced at the time that it would close the gates of its factory in China for six months. Human Horizons was said to have been looking for a joint venture partner but apparently didn’t succeed. The last new car it presented to us was the HiPhi A. That was an extremely strong HiPhi Z with heavy spoilers.
