Jetour Nigeria has officially launched the all-new Jetour G700 SUV into the lucrative Nigerian automotive market. The 5-door G700 is a plug-in hybrid full-size luxury SUV produced by Chery under the Jetour brand.

Boasting a boxy body design seen in other off-roader SUVs from China, the G700 6-seater SUV joins other Jetour models, including T1, T2 and X90 Plus, that will be distributed by W Motors in Nigeria.

“Jetour has globalised its research and development operations to ensure our vehicles meet the needs of different markets. Nigeria is very important to us, and this partnership with W Motors reflects our long-term commitment to the country,” Vice President of Jetour International, Yuan Anguo, said at the unveiling in Lagos.

Its debut in Nigeria comes three months after it officially launched on October 19th 2025, just 3 days after making a 22 minutes amphibious journey spanning 1,480 meters across Yangtze River – be the first SUV to cross China’s mightiest river.

First previewed by the Jetour Shanhai T5 concept car, which was shown at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the production version of the G700 was unveiled at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show.

Inside, the G700 features a 15.6-inch infotainment system and a second-row drop-down 17.3-inch display. There is also a 35.4-inch pillar-to-pillar screen that replaces the instrument cluster.

The G700 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine paired with two electric motors, producing a combined 904 horsepower and 1,135 Nm of torque, with acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds.

Its plug-in powertrain offers a total driving range of between 497 miles and 621 miles (800-km and 1,000-km). In addition, G700 boasts a wading depth of 900mm and seven intelligent off-road driving modes suitable for diverse terrains.
