He recalled that the Ministry had taken its time to go through the due process of stakeholder-engagements and the service of statutory notices to owners of affected structures as expressed in the newspaper publication of June 16, 2020.

Salako urged owners and occupiers of identified structures to cooperate by moving out of the approved Right of Way of the Regional Road.
He revealed that the commenced process of establishing the Right of Way of the road is a strong indication of the government’s determination to execute the project in earnest.

In May 2020, Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu flagged off the construction of the Lekki regional road.
The road is expected to decongest the constant traffic jam along the main Lekki-Epe Expressway. It will be achieved by linking the Lekki-Epe Expressway at Victoria Garden City (VGC) Junction to the Freedom Way in Eti Osa.
In addition, the road is expected to improve socio-economic activities on the Lekki-Epe axis.

The project is expected to run for the next two years. It is expected to be commissioned in 2022.
The 8.75 kilometre-long road is being undertaken by Messrs Hi-Tech Construction Company Limited. It is expected to usher in the construction of the proposed Fourth Mainland Bridge.
