Mercedes Is Preparing A New EQE And An Electric E-Class

Mercedes-Benz could launch the all-electric E-Class (E-Class EQ) as early as 2027, ahead of the originally planned launch.

According to the report of the “JESMB” portal, instead of waiting for the development of the new MB.EA-L platform, the German manufacturer will reportedly use the MB.EA-M platform, which will be available earlier. This platform will debut with the GLC EQ model at the IAA in September 2025.

The electric E-Class will follow the design of the new electric GLC, including an illuminated grille.

Interestingly, the current EQE electric model is set to receive a significant refresh in the spring of 2026, featuring a modernised EVA2M platform that incorporates 800-volt technology for faster charging and longer range.

According to the same source, the existing E-Class with internal combustion engines will continue to be produced after 2027, in parallel with the new electric version.
