Despite Its Poor Sales, Tesla Give The Cybertruck A Price Increase
Everything seemed like an idyll, another marketing success of Elon Musk. More than two million potential buyers reserved the electric Cybertruck when the car was first shown in November 2019. But reservations are one thing; purchases are quite another.
Until now, only 50,000 copies of the pickup have been sold, which is quite modest. The Cybertruck is Tesla’s biggest misjudgment and sales fiasco. How does Tesla deal with the first failure? In a rather interesting way. Along with the decline in sales, the price of the top model Cyberbeast is increasing by $15,000, reports Electrek. Tesla justifies the price increase by saying that the model now has autonomous driving, service, and charging.
The pricing strategy is unusual; it usually reduces the price of slow-selling models, but Tesla apparently estimates that this will motivate customers…
