This is the moment Oba Of Benin arrived at Ex- President’s Abeokuta residence in a Rolls-Royce Phantom 7 sedan.

Oba Of Benin, Ewuare 11, was hosted by the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.

Ewuare 11 rounded off his visit to Ogun after gifting royal bronze artefacts to Obasanjo and Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.

The visit comes days after some recently repatriated artefacts worth £2.5m (N1.39 billion) was handed over to the Oba of Benin.

The Oba of Benin, Omo ‘N’ Oba N’edo, Ewuare 11, on Wednesday paid a visit to Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

One of the pictures shared captures the moment the Oba of Benin Kingdom arrived at the residence of the former Nigerian president in a white Rolls-Royce Phantom 7 sedan. The 40th Oba of Benin Kingdom acquired the Rolls-Royce Phantom 7 in 2016, the same year he ascended the thrown.

Ewuare was accompanied by the Chief Host, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo. The Benin monarch had earlier paid a royal visit to the Alake of Egbaland at his Ake Palace.

The Oba of Benin Kingdom rounded off his two-day visit to Ogun State on Thursday after gifting royal bronze artefacts to Olusegun Obasanjo and Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.





The visit comes days after some recently repatriated artefacts worth £2.5 million (N1.39 billion) was handed over to the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

The artefacts, which comprises of a cockerel (okpa) and an Oba head (Uhunwun Elao), were looted 125 years by the British troops during the invasion of Benin Kingdom.
