Motorists Urged To Register Their Vehicles With NPF ‘Stolen Vehicle Report Portal’, The Central Motor Registry
Nigerian Motorists urged to register their vehicles with NPF ‘Stolen Vehicle Report Portal’, the digitalized Central Motor Registry (CMR).
Digitalized CMR allows the public to report vehicles stolen from as far back as 1st January, 2018, and yet-to-be-recovered.
Details of the vehicle are to be imputed on the online platform to serve as a reliable data point for the possible recovery of the vehicle.
It will also be able to process motor vehicle information to support police operations/efforts toward enhancing national security.
The Nigerian motorists have being urged to register their vehicle with the newly launched NPF digitalized Central Motor Registry (CMR), a stolen vehicle portal designed for the recovery of vehicles stolen as far back as 1st January, 2018 as well as for the prevention car theft.
For registration of vehicles, please visit https://cmris.npf.gov.ng and https://reportcmr.npf.gov.ng for reporting stolen but yet-to-be recovered vehicles from January 1st 2018 till date.
Recall that the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, had on December 7th 2022 commissioned the digitalized CMR Command Centre at the Force Headquarters, Abuja which is domiciled at the Department of Information and Communication Technology.

In addition to making it possible to report vehicles stolen from 1st of January 2018, the digitalized CMR will also allow members of the public to input details of yet-to-be-recovered vehicles on the online platform to serve as a reliable data point for the possible recovery of the vehicle.
The platform will also be able to process motor vehicle information to support police operations and efforts toward enhancing national security, according to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Force Headquarters Abuja, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
“The digitalization of the CMR is complete with 2 Command Centres in Abuja and Lagos, 37 CMR Information Centres across the Country and in the Federal Capital Territory, 200 e-Enforcement Operational Patrol Vehicles with automatic number plate recognition on each vehicle as part of the first batch.”
“The Inspector-General of Police has therefore admonished Nigerians and other residents in the country to take advantage of the platform at reportcmr.npf.gov.ng to upload their vehicle information on the website with effect from today 7th December, 2022, as a security step for preventing it from being stolen and re-registered.”
