Never Before Has Toyota Sold So Many Vehicles In Europe

Toyota strongly endorses its multi-pathway strategy for a cleaner fleet. This strategy is evidently proving successful, as Toyota Motor Europe has achieved a new sales record.

Despite limited influence in the electric vehicle sector in our region, Toyota has still reached remarkable sales figures in 2024. Last year, they recorded an impressive delivery of 1,217,132 new Toyotas, surpassing all previous records. This marked an increase of 4 percent compared to 2023.

In the realm of electrification, Toyota is primarily concentrating on hybrids, which saw the most significant growth last year. Sales of plug-in hybrids rose dramatically by 36 percent, while non-plug hybrids experienced a 9 percent increase. Fully electric vehicle sales also grew by 18 percent. The notable rise in plug-in sales can be attributed largely to the C-HR PHEV.

The lion’s share of the cars was, of course from the Toyota brand: 1,128,948 units. However, there is a particularly positive note for Lexus. That was good for 88,184 units, no less than 19 percent more than in 2023. At Toyota, the Yaris Cross (204,787), Yaris (176,782), Corolla (163,393), and C-HR (131,622) are doing particularly well. At Lexus, the still fairly fresh LBX (23,018) is strongly fueling sales growth, although the NX (26,635) remains the top seller.
