Travel Advisory: June 2021
The state recorded high bandit activity, and reports of robbery, killing, extortion and kidnap for ransom are on the rise.
Focus is on high-profile persons and easy targets, and business travellers are advised to increase physical security preparations accordingly.
Travel risk in significant parts of the state such as towns in Maradun and Chafe LGA is high-severe, and trips to and out of the state should be based on necessity.
Several additional layers of security may be required to ensure personal safety within the state particularly for persons with increased risk levels such as affluent traders, foreigners, and political figures/dignitaries.
