Mercedes-Benz has shared another teaser of the upcoming G-Class Cabriolet, the eagerly awaited open-top variant of the iconic nameplate that features a retractable fabric roof for an open-air driving experience.

“Jaw-dropping. Roof-folding. Unmistakably G-Class. Stay tuned for more,” Mercedes‑Benz wrote in the caption, promising to provide details in due course about this special edition G-Class, which is set to redefine expectations and inspire adventure.
Mercedes-Benz first shared images of the camouflaged prototype last December in Austria, where the open-top model underwent road and track trials before heading to Sweden for rigorous winter testing in sub-zero temperatures and snowy landscapes.

“Whether it’s the original G‑Class or the new G‑Class Cabriolet ‑ every single one will ensure customers feel right at home behind the wheel,” Mercedes-Benz wrote in a statement at the time.
Mercedes-Benz is yet to give details about the latest addition to the boxy G-Class lineup, but the G-Class Cabriolet will likely be based on a G500/G550 and offered in the performance G63 model and the electric G580.
