Pagani founder Horacio Pagani showed up at Lamborghini stand during the unveiling of 2025 Temerario Sports Car.

Horacio once worked at Lamborghini, where he rose from a cleaner to a Chief Engineer and helped built the Countach Evoluzione concept.

Following his exit from Lamborghini, Horacio founded Modena Design, which makes carbon fiber composites for clients like Daimler and Ferrari.

Pagani will later reveal his first car, the mid-engine Zonda sports car at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show.

A video of Horacio Pagani and Lamborghini CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, hugging and shaking hands has gone viral after the former showed up at the unveiling of the brand’s latest car, Temerario, last week at Pebble Beach, California.

“I missed the employee,” Lamborghini CEO joking said, while referring to Horacio’s time at Lamborghini, where he rose from a cleaner in 1983 to a Chief Engineer and helped built the Countach Evoluzione concept.

Pagani later broke away from Automobili Lamborghini after the Italian brand refused to buy an autoclave so they could extend the production of the carbon parts for the Evoluzione.

Following his exit, Horacio founded his own consultancy called Modena Design in 1992, which continues to make carbon fiber composites for Formula One cars and clients like Daimler, Ferrari and Aprilia.

The Argentine-Italian businessman and engineer will later reveal his first car, the Zonda at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show – a mid-engine sports car that took seven years to complete.

Mercedes-AMG powered Zonda was available in a 2-door coupé and roadster variants. It was followed by the Huayra, named after Huayra-tata, the god of the wind in Incan culture. Pagani lineups also includes special one-off edition like Zonda Roadster F CS Final Edition (2011) and 2016 Pagani Huayra Hermes Edition.

It will be recalled that Pagani founder, Horacio, also met with Koenigsegg founder and friend, Christian von Koenigsegg, at the same motor event back in August 2023 during the unveiling of the Koenigsegg CC850.
