Peugeot e-3008 Has Been Unveiled With A Powerful 320 Hp Motor
Peugeot is finally pulling the curtain on the new SUV. For the time being as an electric Peugeot e-3008, but it doesn’t stop there. The Peugeot e-3008 is not just a new Peugeot. The innovation goes further than that because the car also introduces a new platform and an accompanying new electric powertrain. Better said: electric powertrains. There are already three of them.
The basis is a version with front-wheel drive, 210 hp, a 73 kWh battery, and a range of 525 kilometers. This version is also available with four-wheel drive, with the electric motor on the rear axle increasing the total power to 320 hp. The highlight of the series is the Long Range. With 230 hp, it is certainly not the most powerful of the bunch, but it does carry a uniquely large battery of no less than 98 kWh for this segment. The result: a driving range of approximately 700 kilometers! The batteries are initially purchased from the Chinese BYD but later come from ACC. That is a previously announced joint venture between Stellantis and Mercedes-Benz, which should give both manufacturers more control over the battery supply. The production of the ACC batteries takes place in Europe.
Stepping inside, you’re greeted by Peugeot’s Panoramic i-Cockpit, featuring a 21-inch floating panoramic screen. While one half displays vital stats like speed, the other half serves as a touch-screen interface for entertainment, navigation, and more. They haven’t just slapped a screen and called it a day; it’s a reimagining of interior space. Embedded are i-Toggles – touch-sensitive buttons for functionalities you didn’t know you wanted. The cockpit isn’t just a dashboard; it’s a tech hub.
The all-new E-3008 sports what Peugeot dubs as a “fastback SUV” design. Picture this: a sports car and an SUV decide to produce an offspring, and you get this fine specimen, sans the emissions. The vehicle isn’t a behemoth, stretching to a manageable 4.54 m in length, and 1.89 m in width, and standing at 1.64 m tall.
When it comes to versions, Peugeot keeps things nice and clear. The new Peugeot (e-)3008 will be available as an Allure and as a GT.
