Lotus Announces Strong Financial Results For First Nine Months Of 2024 - autojosh

Lotus doesn’t exactly seem to be going through a stable phase at the moment. There’s trouble surrounding its production sites, and now the European boss is gone after just a few months.

It appears Lotus’s European chief, Matt Windle, has thrown in the towel after just a few months. Windle took office four months ago, but according to  The Financial Times, he’s on his way out. He’s reportedly already missed several top-level meetings. Windle, in turn, succeeded Dan Balmer, who also resigned after just a few months.

Windle’s departure is reportedly related to the unrest surrounding Lotus’s production sites. At the end of June, it emerged that Lotus was considering leaving Hethel, and even the United Kingdom, to build cars in the US. Shortly afterwards, Lotus stated that everything would remain where it is. Earlier in the year, Windle advocated for expanding production in Hethel. It remains to be seen what his departure means for those plans.
