Soccer Legend Pele Dies At 82, Received Many Car Gifts From Mercedes, VW, For His Successes

Brazilian Soccer legend Pele dies at 82, received many car gifts from Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, for his successes.
Pele was used to receiving some of the best cars of his times from automakers including Mercedes and VW.
Cars he received includes VW Beetle, Aero Willys 2600 and two Mercedes’, including a 250 W114 and then a 280 SE W108.
Brazilian Soccer Legend, Pele, born Edson Arantes do Nascimento, passed away on Thursday December 29th, 2022 at the age of 82 following a battle with cancer.
A message posted to Pele’s official Twitter account on Thursday read :
“Inspiration and love marked the journey of King Pelé, who peacefully passed away today. Love, love and love, forever.’
Pele, who is the only player in history to win three World Cups, became an icon of the game after winning the World Cup with the Selecao (the Brazil national football team), in 1958 as a 17-year-old.
And all this titles were followed with a lot of cars gifts as Pele was used to receiving some of the best cars of his times from automakers including Mercedes and Volkswagen.
Pele’s first car arrived with his first World Cup title when he the 18 years old received a Volkswagen Beetle as a gift during his time at Santos FC.
This was followed by a BMW and an Aero Willys 2600 that he received during the 1960s and two Mercedes-Benz cars, including a 250 W114 and then a 280 SE W108.
Pele is widely regarded as the greatest footballer (GOAT) in history. In his entire career, he scored a remarkable 1,283 goals in 1,363 games, 1,091 of which were scored for Santos FC, a Brazilian sports club with the most goals in football history.
Before his passing, Pele was a United Nations (UN) goodwill ambassador and an ambassador for German carmaker, Volkswagen AG, since 2013.
