Dodge is restarting production of the 1,000 hp V8 engine after a failed attempt at electric muscle cars.

The automotive giant Stellantis, of which Dodge is a part, understood what American fans of the so-called muscle cars want; that’s why the extreme seven-liter engine returns as part of the Direct Connection catalogue. Therefore, the engine can be purchased directly from the factory and installed at will.

The decision comes after disappointing sales results for the electric Dodge Charger Daytona as customers continue to prefer older models with internal combustion engines. Now, fans can once again get their hands on the legendary Mopar Hellephant A30. The upgraded V8 engine features a massive supercharger, providing exceptional power. With a torque of 1287 Nm, it delivers spectacular performance. The price is set at $35,000. According to Carscoops, demand was so high that production was ramped up.

It’s not just Dodge that’s profiting from the renewed enthusiasm for powerful petrol engines. Stellantis also decided to bring back the V8 engine in the popular RAM series of pickups.
