Toyota Reaches New Sales Record Reaching 10 Million Vehicles In A Fiscal Year

Toyota has never sold as many cars as in the past (fiscal) year. More than 10 million were sold over the proverbial counter.
For the first time, Toyota, including Lexus, has sold more than ten million cars in a fiscal year. In 2023, the counter amounted to more than 10.3 million, as was previously announced, but it is now also clear that the fiscal year, which runs from April to March at Toyota, has been completed with a similar number. Not entirely surprising, given sales in the calendar year 2023, but still a very nice achievement.
Compared to the previous fiscal year, progress is also clearly visible; sales growth of 7.3 percent was recorded. In Europe, there was even a growth of 10.8 percent. The sales of Toyota and Lexus together have fluctuated for years (except in 2020, disrupted by Corona) around 9 million units. In 2014, Toyota passed the 9 million car sales mark for the first time.
Toyota not only saw sales as a whole reach a new record, but never before have so many cars from the group been worn outside Japan. That was almost 8.78 million. For comparison, in 2021, it was just above 8 million for the first time and above 7 million for the first time. The Asian market is the most important for Toyota in terms of numbers, with China at the top. If we look at all individual countries worldwide, the US is at the top. No fewer than 2.34 million of the more than 10 million cars sold last year were sold in the US.
