Toyota Wins TopGear.com 2024 Manufacturer Of The Year Award

TopGear.com recognized Toyota for the “excitement and ambition” it brings to its products, while also being one of the world’s largest automakers, and for its extensive involvement in motorsport.
Ollie Marriage, Head of Car Testing at TopGear.com, said: “This award is not about size or scope; it’s about excitement and ambition. That’s relatively easy to achieve with one car, but much harder across a range.”
He contrasted it with other leading car brands that, he says, are “consolidating into a boring middle ground, so risk-averse that they’re not making anything but a bunch of crossovers.”
The all-new Land Cruiser “never, never lets you down,” the Prius is “smart, bold, and desirable,” and the GR Yaris “remains one of the most relevant and exciting road cars.” In world motorsport, he says, Toyota has “quietly but consistently gone beyond the expected.”.
Stuart Sanders, Toyota (GB) Communications and Product Director, said: “At its core, Toyota values not just mobility for all but the sheer enjoyment that driving can bring. That spirit shapes the range of models we are proud to have recognised with this prestigious award from TopGear.com.
“As we move forward with our multi-pronged strategy towards carbon neutrality with new electrified products, our customers can be confident that we will continue to create exceptional cars. When it comes to motorsport, it is a key source of skill and intelligence that helps us create ever-better cars for the road while building a loyal and growing base of Toyota fans around the world.”
