Uber Boat Service Launched In Lagos By Sanwo-Olu (Photos)

Uber, a global ride-hailing firm launched the Uber Boat Service in Lagos state on Friday. This boat service will attract commuters seeking to avoid the congested Lagos roads. This Uber Boat Service is in partnership with LASWA.
“This initiative is aimed at providing commuters with an easy and affordable way to get in and out of the city’s business districts,” Uber said in a statement.
At a press conference on Friday, Uber officials said there would be four trips a day, carrying up to 35 people on a boat, during the two-week pilot.

N500 flat rate would be the charge per trip for each passenger. This price is fair when compared with the price of taking similar journey with a minibus.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu was there at Five Cowries Boat Terminal, Ikoyi, to launch the service yesterday. The governor acknowledged that the Uber Boat service is part of the initiative aimed at easing congestion.
This is indeed a very nice development and we hope it helps curb the traffic congestion in Lagos to a reasonable extent.
