The journey, measuring 170 meters, starts from the end of the assembly line to the dispatch area.
The 7th-gen 7-Series support Level 3 autonomy, allowing it to automatically steer, accelerate, brake and park itself without anyone sitting inside the car.
BMW invested over €300m in the Dingolfing plant to prepare it for the start of production of the 7 Series and i7.

The seventh-generation BMW 7-Series and the first-ever i7 electric variant began rolling off the production lines at Dingolfing plant earlier month ahead of the expected launch in major markets, including in Nigeria, later this year.
BMW said it has invested over €300 million to modernize the Dingolfing vehicle plant to prepare it for the start of production of the 7 Series and i7.


The start of the production also saw the inauguration of an automated driving pilot program at the Dingolfing plant where the revamped flagship ultra-luxury sedans drive themselves out of the factory with no one behind the wheels.
The pilot program, known internally as the “automated driving in the factory,” allows the flagship car drive automatically along a pre-determined route. The autonomous ride, measuring 170 meters, starts from the end of the assembly line to the dispatch area.


The seventh-generation BMW 7-Series model support Level 3 autonomy. The Personal Pilot system allows the sedan to automatically steer, accelerate, brake and park itself without anyone sitting inside the car
The Dingolfing plant in southern Bavaria, which also produces the 4 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series, 7 Series, 8 Series, and iX, is currently its largest in Europe.
