2020 Bentley Bentayga Facelift To Be Unveiled On 30 June (Checkout Leaked Photos)
Bentley will officially unveil an updated version of its best-selling model, the Bentayga SUV, on Tuesday 30 June.
An image of the premium SUV was leaked a few days back. An Instagram user, Wilco Blok, posted it to Instagram. He appears to have gotten it from a launch brochure. The photo partly reveals the Bentayga’s refreshed styling and new-look interior.
The 2021 Bentayga will be the company’s first car to be launched under Bentley’s new Beyond100 business strategy.
The company has already produced more than 20,000 units of the first generation model till date.
The launch of the new Bentayga was earlier slated to take place at the Beijing Motor Show. However, the unprecedented situation created due to the coronavirus outbreak delayed the launch indefinitely.
The Bentayga was first officially introduced back in 2016. It offered customers ‘Grand Touring experience unrestricted by landscape or conditions’.
The facelifted Bentley will receive a subtle exterior refresh and new interior technology in line with the Flying Spur
At the front, the Bentayga retains its prominent grille but receives a reconfigured headlight design to match the firm’s new Continental and Flying Spur – both of which were launched after the Bentayga arrived in 2016 – and a reshaped bumper with new, straight-edged lower air intakes topped with the same mesh design as the grille.
The rear-end design has not been leaked, but previously spotted test mules showed that the brake lights have been reshaped and expanded, while the current model’s deep numberplate recess looks to have been brought forward.
Changes to the interior look to be similarly subtle. The new images show off a new centre console design and reshaped instrument cluster, but more significant is the removal of physical buttons at the side of the infotainment screen.
Mechanically, the SUV will continue forward with the same W12 and V8 powertrains. The flagship W12 engine may be updated for more efficiency.
Currently, the twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine is capable of producing 600 PS of power and 900 Nm of torque. In this configuration, the SUV can hit zero to 100 kmph in just 4.1 seconds and can do a top speed of 301 kmph.
The smaller V8 Bentayga, currently delivers 542 PS of power and 770 Nm of torque. This configuration pushes the SUV to a top speed of 290 kmph. This is relatively 0.4 seconds late in the zero to 100 kmph sprint at 4.5 seconds.
