2021 Restyled Toyota Hilux Finally Unveiled Globally (Photos)
The cat has finally left the bag as the 2021 restyled Hilux has been unveiled. We gave you a teaser photo yesterday, now this is the official vehicle in its full glory. We won’t go too deep in information as it is obvious that the Hilux has improved. Let us just point the highlight out.
To start, The truck gets a redesigned front end featuring a new three-dimensional grille, new headlights (available with LEDs), and a bold bumper. While the side profile remains largely the same, the 2021 restyled Hilux does get new 18-inch alloys finished in black. The rear gets a new LED taillight and the bumper has more chrome on it. It also features a new ‘Hilux’ lettering on the tailgate making it distinctive from the previous model.
As for the interior, the layout is the same with a slight difference which is hardly noticeable. There is a new 8-inch infotainment screen integrated into the centre console. The interface can be controlled via the touchscreen as well as newly-added buttons and dials. Toyota has integrated the Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto with a host of other eye-catching features for driver and passenger comfort.
The engines remain unchanged with the 2.7 inline-4 and 4.0-litre V6, but a new 2.8-litre diesel (201hp and 369 lb-ft) has been added with more power and torque. A 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission mated with either 2WD or 4WD configurations are available. Toyota as earlier claimed that the suspension is all-new together with the shocks. This will make the handling of the pickup way better than before and offers an improved offroad ability.
Expect it to be available in Nigeria before the year-end or at most early next year. The Hilux as we already know is the best selling pickup in Nigeria.
