2021 Toyota Highlander Gets A Surprising XSE Trim (Photos)
Toyota has launched the new Highlander XSE trim. It is a sporty variant that was 1st seen in the Camry and has now found its way to the Highlander. The SUV will be the 1st of Toyota’s SUV lineup to have the sporty version. The Highlander XSE trim is very distinctive and it will blow you away.
Sporty Exterior
The XSE distinguishes itself from the rest of the Highlander lineup. With a restyled front end with a gaping lower intake, side intakes that appear to draw air into the wheel wells, darkened headlights with black accents, a restyled grille, and a lip that juts out from the lower front bumper. The wheel wells are filled by 20-inch machine-faced alloy wheels with painted black accents. At the rear, it features twin chrome exhaust tip and a bumper lip that plays off the one at the front. The exterior trim, mirrors, and roof rails are blacked out.

Same But Better Interior
Interior changes are limited but include ambient lighting, faux carbon-fiber trim and black Softex seats with fabric inserts. Customers can also opt for a two-tone interior featuring black and red leather as well as red contrast stitching. The 2021 Highlander XSE comes ready to take on all devices with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa compatibility, as well as five USB ports and an all-access 3-month trail of SiriusXM.
The improvements aren’t just skin deep as Highlander XSE features a sportier suspension with retuned shocks, springs and a rear stabilizer bar. The electric power steering system has also been recalibrated to deliver a more direct feel.

The 2021 Highlander XSE is powered by the same 295-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 mated with 8-speed automatic transmission.
