China And Africa Helps Porsche To Achieve Robust Deliveries Of 272,162 Vehicles Worldwide In 2020

China and Middle East & Africa helped Sports car maker Porsche to achieve robust deliveries of 272,162 vehicles worldwide in 2020.
German sports car maker Porsche delivered a total of 272,162 new vehicles worldwide in 2020, just three percent below the record set in 2019.
Despite last year’s pandemic, Porsche was able to achieve a solid sales in 2020 by benefitting from its strong global positioning.
“The coronavirus crisis posed a great challenge from spring 2020 onwards. Nevertheless, we were able to keep deliveries comparatively stable for the year as a whole,”
The Cayenne led demand at 92,860 sales, an increase of one percent compared with the previous year. A total of 21,784 vehicles from the 718 model lines found new owners (+6%), while deliveries of the iconic Porsche 911 totalled 34,328.
Porsche Taycan
Despite a six-week production shutdown, Porsche was able to find 20,015 customers for its first-ever electric car, the Taycan.
Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG, in a statement said :
“Our fresh, attractive product range, the successful start of the Taycan as the first all-electric Porsche and the charisma of our brand – all this contributed to this positive result despite the difficult times”

Porsche Cayenne
With a total sales of 88,968 vehicles, China was Porsche’s single biggest market in 2020, an increase of three percent compared with 2019.
Customers in Asia-Pacific and Middle East & Africa regions took delivery of 121,641 vehicles last year, an increase of four percent compared with the same period in the previous year.
A total of 80,892 and 69,629 vehicles were delivered by Porsche to customers in Europe and America in 2020 respectively.
Porsche Macan
With this robust 2020 result, Porsche is optimistic about further positive developments in 2021.
“We are continuing our product offensive – our customers can look forward to it. It will include additional derivatives of the all-electric Taycan and the 911, among others”
