Akwa Ibom State’s Ibom Air Wins Airline Of The Year 2020 Award
Akwa Ibom State-owned airline Ibom Air has received the Airline of the year in Nigeria 2020 Award.
The carrier said it recorded a total of 4,410 flights for the year 2020.
Ibom Air currently deploys a fleet of five 90-seat Bombardier CRJ900 regional jets.
Akwa Ibom State-owned airline Ibom Air has received the Airline of the year in Nigeria 2020 Award. The award was presented on March 04, 2021 at Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo by the CEO of African Travel Market (Akwaaba) and Publisher ATQnews, Ikechi Uko,
The award was presented to the Chief Executive Officer, Captain Mfon Udom and the Chief Operating Officer, George Uriesi.
Ikechi Uko said Ibom Air is the pride of the industry and hopes that the airline continues to keep the flag flying in the industry.
Uko expressed his satisfaction with the expansion plans of Ibom Air and commended the management of Ibom Air for their impeccable leadership. He also commended the staff of Ibom Air for their great sense of professionalism which seems to be a difficult factor in the industry today.

Also speaking, the CEO of Ibom Air, Capt. Mfon Udom, thanked everyone present for recognizing all the hard work put into making Ibom Air a successful airline.
Ibom Air began operations in June 2019 and currently operates daily flights from Uyo, Abuja, Calabar, Enugu and Lagos.
In January, the carrier, owned by the country’s largest oil-producing state, Akwa Ibom; said it recorded a total of 4,410 flights for the year 2020.
Last August, Ibom Air took delivery of a brand new 90-seater Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft. It plans to add two news aircrafts to its current fleet of five by March 2021. Ibom Air currently deploys a fleet of five 90-seat Bombardier CRJ900 regional jets.
