School increases bus fee from ₦100k to ₦150k per child, following reintroduction of tolling at Lekki.

This change will take effect from 3 term of 2021/2022 academic session.

But this increment, according to the school, will not affect pick-up and drop-off around the Ikoyi axis.

A private school in Lagos has reportedly increased its bus fee per child from ₦100,000 to ₦150,000, following the resumption of tolling at the Lekki axis of the State.

A later, titled “SCHOOL BUS FEE INCREMENT”, purportedly sent to Parents and Guardians, reveals that the change takes effect from 3rd term of 2021/2022 academic session.

But the content of the letter, which was shared by Twitter user @Segolopade, notes “that this increment will not affect pick-up and drop-off around the Ikoyi axis”.

Part of the letter reads :

“This is to inform you that there will be an increment in school bus fee from N100,000 to N150,000 (two-way trip) and N50,000 to 75,000 (one-way trip).

This change will take effect from 3 term of 2021/2022 academic session.”

“This increment is due to the resumption of toll fee at the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge which will take effect from the 15th of April, 2022.

Please note that this increment will not affect pick-up and drop-off around the Ikoyi axis.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
Yours sincerely”.

Recall that the Lekki Concession Company Limited (LCC) officially announced the formal return to tolling operations on Friday, 1st April, 2022 (today) at the Ikoyi Link Bridge Toll Plaza.

However, toll payment will not commence until Wednesday 16th April 2022, according to a statement signed by the Managing Director of LCC, Yomi Omomuwasan.
