“Factory 56” in Sindelfingen, Germany : The Mercedes-Benz assembly lines from the past. 

“Factory 56”, which opened in 1915, has produced high-end Mercedes cars ever since records began in 1946.

The 22 millionth Mercedes-Benz vehicle, an EQS 580 4Matic all-electric car, rolling off the production line in March.

Today, man-machine-cooperations has significantly increased flexibility and efficiency at Mercedes-Benz new “Factory 56”.





All variants of S-Class, as well as the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, E-Class and S-Class Guard are also built at Factory 56.

Today, Factory 56 in Sindelfingen, Germany churns out high-end Mercedes luxury cars across its assembly lines, with the 22 millionth Mercedes-Benz vehicle, an EQS 580 4Matic all-electric car, rolling off the production line in March.

But, before now, production at the “Factory 56” weren’t as smooth like what we’ve seen since the opening of the modern factory on 2nd September 2020, judging by old photos taken at the same plant between 1950s and 70s.

“Factory 56” in Sindelfingen, Germany, which opened in 1915, has produced high-end Mercedes-Benz vehicles such as the flagship S-Class ever since records began in 1946.

Today, man-machine-cooperations has significantly increased flexibility and efficiency at Mercedes-Benz new “Factory 56”. All variants of S-Class, as well as the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, E-Class and S-Class Guard are also built at Factory 56.

The assembly hall is 100 percent flexible, allowing all Mercedes-Benz model series to be integrated into ongoing production in the shortest possible time, depending on demand.

“Factory 56” isn’t all about production of Mercedes-Benz vehicles as the plants has a CO₂-neutral energy supply since 2022.





The plant already have a CO₂-neutral energy supply as its roof features photovoltaic system. This power feeds green electricity into the productions supply, thereby reducing 5,000 MWh of electricity per yearly.
