Two dead in gun attack at Mercedes-Benz S-Class plant, shooter was overpowered by workers.
Mercedes said the shooter and the victims of the shooting were employed by an external service provider.
German luxury carmaker employs about 35,000 people at the Sindelfingen plant in Germany.
Mercedes-Benz produces its flagship S-Class and the Mercedes-Maybach luxury model at the plant.

A gun rampage at Mercedes-Benz factory in south-western Germany last week left two dead. The shooter, a 53-year-old man, was overpowered by workers before being handed over to police officers.
“We are deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic news from Sindelfingen this morning. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and all colleagues on site,” Mercedes-Benz said in a statement.

The shooter “entered the factory hall and shot at two people. Security guards seized the suspect and handed him over to police, who encountered no resistance as they arrested him,” the police added in a statement.

Though, police said they were still investigating the motive for the attack, Mercedes-Benz said the shooter and the victims of the shooting were employed by an external service provider.
Mercedes-Benz employs about 35,000 people at the Sindelfingen plant, where the German luxury carmaker produces CLS, E-Class, Mercedes-AMG GT as well as its flagships S-Class and the Mercedes-Maybach luxury model.
