FRSC Denies Partnership With WACORPAI On Issuance Of “Peace Ambassador” Number Plates

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a disclaimer, dissociating itself from any partnership with a group called Wazobia Conflict Resolution and Peace Initiative (WACORPAI) regarding the issuance of “Peace Ambassador” number plates.

In a statement on Wednesday, FRSC stated that Federal Government Number Plates are only issued to Ministries, Departments and Agencies, and not by individuals irrespective of their affiliations.

“The general public is by this notice urged to desist henceforth from patronizing producers of those fake and illegal number plates. Members of the Association who are presently using the number plates should take them off to avoid arrest while those intending to purchase same are equally advised to discontinue.”

LASG Set To Launch Refueling Stations Ahead Of The Deployment Of 2,000 CNG Buses In 2025

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has said that his administration is committed to expanding the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative by investing in the infrastructure, technology, and partnerships necessary to make its adoption seamless and scalable.

Sanwo-Olu stated this on Friday December 6, 2024 at the pilot Compressed Natural Gas Vehicle (CNG) conversion training for technicians and mechanics, which was organized by IBILE Oil and Gas Corporation (IOGC).

Also speaking at the event, the MD of IOGC, Ms. Doyin Akinyanju disclosed that it is on course to deliver four CNG refueling stations by the end of March 2025 that will service the LASG 2,000 CNG buses arriving in phases during 2025.

She noted that 11 additional CNG refueling stations across Lagos State are planned to be delivered between the third quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026.

Nigeria Customs To Auction Uncleared Overtime Vehicles At Lagos Ports After 2-week Ultimatum

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Thursday gave a two-week ultimatum to owners of some overtime containers and vehicles littered around Lagos Ports to clear them or else the cargoes would be auctioned.

The service in an advertorial with The PUNCH stated that the affected 512 overtime cargoes are littered around Lagos Ports, including, Apapa, Kirikiri Lighter Terminal, Ports & Terminals Multiservice Limited, and Tincan Island Ports.

“In line with the NCS Act 2023, the under-listed overtime containers and vehicles domiciled at the under-listed commands, following a motion of exparte with suit number FHC/L/MISC/8262024 dated 28th November 2024, are hereby published for the information of the general public.

“Accordingly, importers/agents of the overtime goods are given a two-week grace period from the time of this publication to process and clear their goods or forfeit the same to the Federal Government of Nigeria.”
