LASG Set To Install 3,000 E-Police And Speed Limit Cameras To Enforce Traffic Regulations

The Lagos State Government has announced plans to install approximately 3,000 E-Police and Speed Limit Cameras across the state to enhance traffic law enforcement.

The Director of the Lagos State Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS), Engr. Akin-George Fashola, disclosed this on Tuesday while speaking on Lagos Transport Trends and Perspectives, a programme sponsored by the State’s Ministry of Transportation on Traffic Radio 96.1 FM.





Engr. Fashola noted that speed limit cameras have already been installed at various locations, including Alapere-Ogudu Road (80km/h inbound Alausa and 60km/h inbound Iyana Oworo) and Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way (60km/h).

Speaking on penalties, the VIS Director emphasised that violators of speed limits would be required to pay a fine of Fifty Thousand Naira (₦50,000). However, he added that offenders who believe they did not violate the regulation could contest the fine by providing proof.

30% Fare Reduction : LAMATA Sees Upsurge In Passenger Patronage Of The Red Line

The 30 percent reduction in fare of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line, announced by Governor Sanwo-Olu on February 18th 2025, has been positively received by the public, following an upsurge in passenger patronage of the Red Line especially from Agbado.

The upsurge in passenger patronage was noticed by the television crew from Lagos Television, who joined LAMATA’s Head of Corporate Communication and other passengers on the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line to assess the impact of the service since the fare reduction.

“Today, television crew from Lagos television, joined by Mr. Kolawole Ojelabi, Head of Corporate Communication at the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), was on the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line to assess the impact of the service since the fare reduction.”

“The crew noticed the upsurge in passenger patronage of the Red Line especially from Agbado. Commuters overwhelmingly praised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Government and LAMATA for the project, recognizing its significant contribution to the city’s infrastructure.”

PCNGi, AMAC Partner On CNG Tricycle Pilot Program To Empower Abuja Youths

The Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi) has handed over two (2) CNG-powered tricycles to the National Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (NATOMORAS) to empower youths in the FCT.





In a statement on its official X page on Monday, PCNGi said that this initiative, conducted in collaboration with the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), is part of a CNG-powered tricycle pilot program aimed at accelerating Nigeria’s clean energy transition.

PCNGi said that collaboration with AMAC and NATOMORAS demonstrates its commitment to delivering affordable, eco-friendly transportation alternatives while creating economic opportunities for Nigerian youth.
