NVIS : FRSC Anambra Recovers Stolen Toyota Sienna That Was Reported Missing For Three Years

Feat achieved due to the effectiveness of the NVIS database, which enables the FRSC to track and identify stolen vehicles.
Earlier in the year, FRSC announced that it recovered 73 stolen vehicles across the country in 2024 through NVIS.
FRSC urged vehicle owners to always provide necessary information required of them at the point of registration of their vehicles.

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has commended the Anambra State Sector Commander, Joyce Nnennaya Alexander, for the successful recovery of a suspected stolen vehicle through the National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS) Desk Office in Nteje.
A statement by FRSC said that the stolen vehicle, a red Toyota Sienna Minivan, was tracked down after an agent of the Board of Internal Revenue (BIR) sent the information of the vehicle for verification, which reveals that it had been missing for three years.
“The feat was achieved due largely to the effectiveness of the NVIS database, which enables the FRSC to track and identify stolen vehicles, as such, vehicle owners are admonished to ensure that their number plates are uploaded to the NVIS portal during registration for ease of tracking and identification” FRSC said.
Earlier in the year, FRSC announced that it recovered an unprecedented 73 stolen vehicles across the country in the year 2024 through the National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS).
Reacting to the remarkable achievement, the Corps Marshal admonished vehicle owners to always ensure that they provide all necessary information required of them at the point of registration of their vehicles.
Shehu Mohammed emphasized that adequate information at the point of registration of their vehicles helps in intelligence gathering which in turn, makes timely recovery of vehicles possible.
