Peugeot To Launch The Refreshed 408 Next Month

The facelifted Peugeot 408 will be unveiled next month at the Brussels Motor Show, which runs from 9 to 18 January 2026.
According to Auto Express, the updated version of the already impressive family car is likely to attract even more attention. Aside from announcing the refreshed 408, Peugeot hasn’t provided many details about the revised car. But it is clear that the existing 408, which is “defined by sharply sculpted lines,” will be “further enhanced with sophisticated details at both the front and rear of the vehicle.”
Judging by the renewed Peugeot 308, the facelifted 408 will have a sharper, more aggressive look, with a new mask, in the center of which should be a large and illuminated Peugeot badge. However, the more noticeable change should be the removal of the distinctive canine daytime running lights.
Other subtle changes will include revised bumpers, new wheel designs, and possibly refreshed taillights.
The interior should remain largely the same, apart from perhaps some updated graphics on the displays and some extra luxuries for the top-spec models.
The 308’s engine lineup remains largely the same after the update, and the same is likely to apply to the 408. That means the base model will get 143 bhp from a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor mated to the car’s six-speed automatic gearbox. Meanwhile, the 408 plug-in hybrid will have 193 hp and a range of around 80 kilometers on electricity. However, the electric Peugeot E-408 should get a new, larger battery pack that could increase its range from the current 450 kilometers to closer to 480 kilometers.
