Disu was appointed as the 23rd Inspector General of Police (IGP) in Feb 2026, following the resignation of Kayode Egbetokun (2023–2026).

Like his predecessor, the official vehicle of the new IGP is an armored Toyota Land Cruiser 300 SUV fitted with “NPF 01” number plate.

The SUV is likely armored to the BR6 level, one of the highest levels of civilian, non-military armored protection.

In a landmark move to fortify Nigeria’s internal security architecture, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, paid a historic courtesy visit to the National Headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Moment IGP Disu arrived at the National Headquarters of NSCDC in an armored Toyota Land Cruiser 300 SUV was captured in photos posted to NSCDC social media pages. This visit was aimed at reaffirming and deepening the working relationship between the two premier security agencies.

“We must encourage one another as we confront contemporary security challenges, the IGP said while addressing the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, and his Principal Staff Officers.

“We often fight difficult battles in demanding terrains; therefore, we must share intelligence and operate as a unified front to achieve lasting peace,” IGP Disu added.

Mr Disu, a Former Commander of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and Intelligence Response Team (IRT), was appointed as the 23rd Inspector General of Police (IGP) in February 2026, following the resignation of Kayode Egbetokun (2023–2026).

Like his predecessor, the official vehicle of the current head of the Nigeria Police Force is an armored Toyota Land Cruiser 300 SUV fitted with a customized “NPF 01” number plate.

Likely armored to the BR6 level, the armored Toyota Land Cruiser 300 SUV is uniquely designed with reinforced structures to safeguard the Nigerian Police boss against assaults from bullets, blasts and assaults.
