Zeekr 9X Launches In Europe
China’s Zeekr continues its expansion into the European market with the introduction of the 9X, a six-seat luxury SUV. This changes the practice that has kept many advanced Chinese models unavailable to European buyers.
Zeekr enters a segment dominated by the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS and the new Audi Q9. Some analysts have even compared it to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan due to its design, earning it the nickname “the Chinese Rolls-Royce”. Although such comparisons have yet to be justified in practice, the technical specifications confirm the high ambitions.
In Europe, the 9X will be sold exclusively as a six-seater with a “Super Hybrid” powertrain that combines a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors. Zeekr confirmed that the European version will develop 897 horsepower, a reduction from the Chinese version’s 1,381 horsepower, but still significantly more than most competitors.
Thanks to the 900-volt architecture, charging the battery from 10 to 80 percent takes just 9.5 minutes. The total range is 737 kilometers, acceleration to 100 km/h takes 4.1 seconds, and the maximum speed is 240 km/h. The car can tow a trailer weighing up to 2,000 kilograms. It has not yet been announced which battery will be installed in the European model, but in China, packages with a capacity of 55.1 kWh and 70 kWh are available.
The interior is completely subordinate to luxury. Standard equipment includes a 32-speaker Naim audio system and advanced driving assistance systems with LiDAR technology, which have already been tested on European roads. In front of the driver are a 47-inch head-up display and a 13-inch information display, while in the middle is a 16-inch OLED screen with 3.5K resolution.
The seats in the first and second rows are equipped with a massage function, and rear passengers have access to a 17-inch screen that drops down from the Alcantara-covered roof.
The second row houses a refrigerator and two 6.3-inch screens for controlling the lighting, seats and climate control. The cabin is mostly upholstered in Nappa leather, and the center console features a crystal rotary controller and physical buttons.
Zeekr has confirmed that the 9X will be available in three colors: Crystal White, Lava Grey, and Onyx Black.
Prices for individual European markets have not yet been announced.
