Nigeria’s leading carrier, Air Peace, on Thursday took delivery of Boeing 737-800 aircraft to further boosts its operations within and outside the country.

The 160-seater aircraft arrived the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos at about 8 PM on Thursday from Europe.

According to the Corporate Communications Executive of the airline, Mr. Stanley Olisa, the new 160-seater aircraft has 16 Business Class seats and 144 economy class seats.

He said,

“We are very glad to announce the acquisition of another aircraft, which is a 160-seater B737-800 New Generation aircraft. This will help us sustain our domestic and regional operations”.

He stressed the commitment of Air Peace to spread its operations across the length and breadth of this country.

Air Peace is currently the largest airline in West and Central Africa. Last year, it became the first airline in sub Saharan Africa to place a firm order for 10 Boeing 737 Max.

Airpeace earlier this year became the first airline in Africa to order 124-seater E195-E2 jets from Embraer. The airline ordered 30 of these new generation aircrafts.

The airline in July 2019 also made history with the launch of its first international flight to Dubai via Sharjah international airport in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This came after much preparations and acquisition of four wide-bodied 212-seater Boeing 777 aircrafts.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has also permitted Air Peace to operate to London, Houston, Dubai, Sharjah, Guangzhou-China, Mumbai and Johannesburg.

Air Peace thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for creating enabling aviation environment that made the airline achieve these feat within a very short time.
