Electric Renault Scenic Win 2024 Car Of The Year
The electric Renault Scenic has been chosen as the Car of the Year 2024 by an international jury. The brand-new SUV left six other important models behind it.
Last year, the Jeep Avenger was crowned Car of the Year 2023; this time, the electric Renault Scenic was chosen as Car of the Year 2024 by an international jury. In November, seven finalists were filtered from a list of 28 automotive candidates. The Scenic leaves them all behind.
Among the seven finalists, there were only two models that were not crossovers or SUVs. The BMW 5 Series and BYD Seal were the only ‘low models’ of the bunch. Other contenders were the Kia EV9, the Volvo EX30, the Peugeot 3008/e-3008, and the Toyota C-HR. This year, the professional jury for the Car of the Year election consisted of 59 jury members from 22 countries. That could have been 61 jurors from 23 countries, had it not been for the suspension of two Russian jurors.
The Renault Scenic scored 329 points. The BMW 5 Series finished in second place with 308 points, followed by the Peugeot e-3008 in third place (197 points). Places four to six went to the Kia EV9 (190 points), the Volvo EX30 (168 points), and the BYD Seal (131 points). Of the seven finalists, the Toyota C-HR finished last with 127 points.
